Our client is searching for an experienced, charismatic and professional estates manager to oversee the operation and rejuvenation of a magnificent French chateau and shooting estate.
The estate is located approximately 100km from Paris in a beautiful rural setting.
The estate spans over 200 hectares, including seven hectares of lake. It comprises of a spectacular twentieth-century chateau, an Orangery, a swimming pool and many other houses and buildings.
The 17-bedroom chateau is situated within spectacular gardens and on what is truly one of the best estates outside of Paris.
Each year, throughout the shooting season, the estate holds many shoots for guests with a particular focus on ducks, pheasants and partridges.
A team of 10 currently manages the estate and the Estate Manager will lead this team.
The Company will take over accountability for operating and developing the estate from late July, and it is looking for an exceptionally talented and driven Estate Manager to oversee the effective and efficient operation of the estate, ensuring an exceptional quality shooting season this year and ensuring a high performing estate management team is in place.
The Company will be significantly redeveloping the estate to turn it into the primary estate in the region, and the Estates Manager will be at the heart of this journey.

Vacancy duties and responsibilities
- Overseeing the effective operation of all elements of the estate including maintenance and upkeep, day-to-day financial expenditure and managing the estate team;
- Developing and maintaining exceptional relationships with the Company, key stakeholders, guests and suppliers;
- Be the primary host for all shoots hosted on the estate during the season;
- Supervise the effective operation of each property on the Estate;
- Keep all operational processes under review, regularly making proposals and setting forth business cases to Employer on areas for improvement and opportunities to enhance the clients’ experiences of the Estate, including making recommendations on improvements that can be made to the approach to maintenance of the physical asset or client services within it;
- Managing the estate team, ensuring that they have the support, guidance and challenge required to be successful in their roles; and ensuring that they are delivering a consistently exceptional service across the estate;
- Ensuring full transparency of operations to the Company and its representatives through regular reporting, continually available monitoring, and regular briefings;
- Supervising household installations, trades and vendors for interior and exterior and seasonal projects and reporting;
- Ensuring the pristine landscaping is maintained and upkeep of the grounds of the Estate (c200+ hectares);
- Coordinating and overseeing activity requests on the Estate including but not limited to golf, horse riding and shooting.
Profile requirement
- M/F
- Significant previous experience of operating luxury estates/hospitality assets
- Luxury Hotel Management background a plus
- Fluency in French and English
- Management skills
- Communication skills
- Must be flexible to work on the weekend during busy time
Job Condition
- Contract : Permanent and full time french working contract (possibility Live-In position)

100000 € gross per year
