As a security manager, you will not only be responsible for keeping families, buildings and people safe, but you’ll also be in charge of all the security personnel who do. Security managers are often in charge of a client’s security team, which means you’ll coordinate and manage security personnel, including bodyguards, chauffeurs, and more.
Your tasks will mainly depend on your employer and where you work, but this can include overseeing all security measures, managing a security team, and constantly checking that all security systems and plans work as they should.

Security managers have to ensure that the entire security team is on the same page, trained and ready to handle any dangerous situation. Shift work is very common, and so are longer work weeks of 48 hours and more at a time. Some jobs may also involve traveling and driving, especially when you need to ensure the safe arrival of a person or item.
