What is a personal assistant’s job ?

The personal assistant needs to work closely with their employer. His/her role is to provide administrative support, manage budgets and financial accounts, and make sure everything is in order.

They may also be required to manage the household of the employers as well as the administrative duties.

Everyday duties and responsibilities of a personal assistant can include but is not limited to:

  • Diary management – scheduling business/personal meetings;
  • Travel arrangements – booking flights/travel, accommodation, preparing documents that are needed (Visa, passport);
  • Table reservations;
  • Hiring new staff members for the principals’ property;
  • Liaising with staff members to ensure the household is fully equipped with household equipment;
  • Dealing with correspondence.

As a personal assistant one must be responsible, highly organised, flexible and have a good understanding of the principals’ requirements. It is crucial to be careful and discreet about the principals’ everyday life and their business.
