Being a bodyguard can be challenging and very rewarding. As a bodyguard, you will be expected to protect individuals or groups from harmful situations like violence or kidnapping. Your clients may include public figures, heads of industry, celebrities, and more.
As a bodyguard you may also accompany your client to various events and public places to keep them safe. You’ll need to observe every situation so that you can recognise risks and react very quickly in the event of a threat.
Bodyguard Job Description
Some of your duties as bodyguard may include:
- Accompany clients to social and business events
- Plan trips and do research to prevent possible threats
- Assess premises before your client arrives
- Stay constantly alert in various surroundings
- Drive clients to and from venues
As a bodyguard you’ll need to understand various events and know where possible security threats may occur. Depending on your client, this may be a crucial part of your job.
You may also be required to work as part of a security team that includes other bodyguards and professional drivers. You may work in a high-risk environment protecting a public or political figure, or in a lower-risk environment protecting an individual. You may also specialize in a specific area such as residential security, protecting people in their own homes.
