Live-In Nanny/ Family Assistant job in Bahamas & Colorado
Job description
A warm and respectful family is seeking an experienced, professional Nanny to provide attentive care for their 2 years old toddler while supporting the smooth running of the household.
The ideal candidate will be nurturing, proactive, and highly organized, with strong knowledge of early childhood development and the ability to create a structured, engaging environment for the child.
This role requires someone who is comfortable working collaboratively within a staffed household and who can maintain professionalism, discretion, and flexibility.
The nanny will play an important role in supporting the child’s development while assisting the parents in maintaining daily routines.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and always ensure the child’s safety.
- Support daily routines including meals, naps, activities, and hygiene.
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the child and assist with maintaining a clean and organized environment in the child’s bedroom and play areas.
- Plan and lead age-appropriate developmental activities such as reading, sensory play, storytelling, and outdoor play to support cognitive and emotional growth.
- Monitor developmental milestones and provide thoughtful guidance to parents when appropriate.
- Maintain clear communication with the parents by providing daily updates regarding meals, naps, activities, and milestones.
- Assist with organizing the child’s belongings, managing child-related laundry when needed, and ensuring the child’s environment remains tidy and well organized.
- Organize playdates and activities that encourage social development and positive behavior.
- Support respectful behavior and emotional development through positive guidance techniques aligned with the family’s values.
- Assist with travel preparation by organizing the child’s belongings and accompany the family on domestic and international trips when required.
- Work collaboratively with other household staff while maintaining a professional and respectful presence in the home.
- · Dog caring when the parents are traveling over weekends. Feeding the dogs, letting them out for relief/exercise, and putting them in their kennels for breaks. Dogs are medium sized.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of recent professional nanny experience with toddlers in private household.
- Strong knowledge of child development.
- Experience working in private households preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification essential.
- Strong swimming ability Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.
- Professional, discreet, and reliable.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Fluency in English.
- French speaker is a huge plus not mandatory.
- Authorized to work in the US.
- Must love dogs.
- Bahamas visa will be arranged for the candidate.
- High possibility to extend to 1 year contract.
Work conditions
- Location: Bahamas & Colorado
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Friday 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Contract Period: From May to August
