Job description
An international expat family in Dubai is seeking a highly experienced and energetic Live-in French-Speaking Governess to care for and support the development of their 6-year-old daughter.
The Governess will focus on enhancing the child’s French language skills, fostering brain development, and ensuring her overall well-being. The family employs full household staff, so no chores will be required, allowing the Governess to focus solely on the child.
Responsibilities
- Improve the child's French language skills through interactive and engaging activities.
- Ensure the child's safety and well-being at all times.
- Manage the morning routine, including waking the child up and preparing her for school.
- Accompany the child to school and extracurricular activities with the assistance of the family driver.
- Organize stimulating, brain-developing activities during the day.
- Prepare healthy lunchboxes and snacks for the child (in coordination with the family chef).
- Assist with the bedtime routine, ensuring the child’s proper sleep schedule.
- Travel with the family during school holidays to Europe as required.
Requirements
- Native French speaker with strong communication skills.
- Proven experience as a Governess or in a similar educational role, working with active children.
- Ability to create and implement educational activities that promote language development and intellectual growth.
- Energetic, physically fit, and able to keep up with an active 6-year-old.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage changing schedules and occasional travel.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to commit to a long-term position.
- Knowledge of child development and early childhood education is a plus.
Work conditions
- Full-time, permanent contract.
- Start date: As soon as possible.
- Accommodation: A private room in the staff quarters is provided.
- Work schedule: 6 days a week. (Morning: 6:30 am - 8:00 am. Break: 8:00 am - 1:30 pm / 2:00 pm. Afternoon/evening: 2:00 pm until bedtime (around 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm).
- Salary: Negotiable.
