Job description
A family in Dubai is seeking a nurturing, French-speaking Governess to provide care, guidance, and support for two 16-year-old home-schooled teenagers who are relocating to Dubai.
The ideal candidate will act as a maternal figure, assisting with their academic, personal, and lifestyle needs while fostering their growth and independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist the teenagers with homework, school projects, and study organization to ensure academic success.
- Coordinate with teachers and maintain clear communication to monitor academic progress.
- Provide guidance on life skills, personal development, and cultural adaptation in Dubai.
- Supervise and organize daily routines, extracurricular activities, and social engagements.
- Prepare and serve breakfast, assist with getting ready for classes, and ideally cook healthy meals and snacks for the teenagers.
- Manage shopping for the teenagers’ needs.
- Assist with light housework related to the teenagers, such as organizing their rooms and laundry.
- Accompany the teenagers on outings in Dubai, such as recreational or cultural activities.
- Be available to travel with the teenagers abroad if required.
- Create and maintain a supportive, nurturing, and structured environment that encourages independence and responsibility.
- Keep parents informed about the teenagers' progress and address any specific needs.
Requirements
- Fluency in both French and English is essential.
- Previous experience as a governess, tutor, or similar role with teenagers is preferred.
- A nurturing, patient, and organized personality with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to cook healthy meals is a plus but not mandatory.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally with the teenagers if needed.
- Strong organizational skills to manage daily routines and maintain clear communication with the family and teachers.
Work conditions
- Job Type: Full time, Permanent.
- Schedule: 5-6 days per week, around 48 hours her week.
- Start Date: As soon as possible.
- Position is either live in or live out. Accommodation will be provided if needed.
- The family is open to candidates currently outside Dubai and will provide visa sponsorship if required.
- Salary: This position offers a highly attractive salary package.
