Job description
Our esteemed long-term client is looking for a professional and experienced Head Housekeeper (M/F) to manage and work alongside a team of four housekeepers.
The role is based primarily in the Kensington area of London.
The successful candidate will be meticulous, take pride in delivering exceptional service, and demonstrate a proactive approach to exceeding expectations when needed.
Responsibilities
- Team Management: Supervise and coordinate a team of 4–5 housekeepers, including scheduling, training, and quality control.
- Inventory and Supplies: Manage and order cleaning supplies, toiletries, and household inventory.
- Wardrobe and Laundry Oversight: Oversee wardrobe organization and daily laundry operations.
- Property Maintenance: Ensure the highest housekeeping standards are maintained across all areas, including outdoor spaces.
- Guest and Principal Service: Provide outstanding service to the family and their guests, ensuring all needs are anticipated and met.
- Specialized Care: Maintain bedroom suites by changing linens, replenishing supplies, and upkeeping bathrooms, kitchens, and gardens.
- Principal Support: Attend to the principal’s needs, including packing and unpacking for trips and ensuring personal comfort.
- Pet Interaction: Comfortable and capable of working in a household with cats.
- Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the broader household team to deliver exceptional service.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Exhibit flexibility to handle additional tasks as required by the family.
Requirements

Proven experience in a similar role within semi-formal or fully staffed households, or in luxury 5-star hotels.

Fluency in English and Russian is essential

A hands-on approach with a proactive, team-oriented attitude and exceptional attention to detail.

Commitment to maintaining the highest standards in all aspects of housekeeping and service.

Comfortable working in a household with cats.

Ability and willingness to travel with a valid UK or EU passport.

Availability to work weekends, holidays, and beyond standard duties when required.

Expertise in all laundry operations, including washing, pressing, and wardrobe management.

Must have the legal right to work in the UK and travel within the EU as necessary.
Work conditions
- Working Hours: 9 am to 5 pm, five days per week (Monday to Sunday) with two days off on a rotational basis.
- Holiday Entitlement: 28 days annual leave, inclusive of UK Bank and Public Holidays.
- Pension: Enrolment in the NEST pension scheme.
- Start Date: As soon as possible.
- Contract Type: Full-Time Permanent.
- Salary: £50,000 gross per annum, payroll.
