House Manager Job Offer and Vacancy

A family based in Paris, France is looking for a house manager to manage their property. There are currently employed other domestic staff (driver and housekeeper). Suitable candidate must demonstrate versatility and assist the staff when necessary.

The house manager/butler will be responsible for supervising the staff and informing the family office regarding the life within the household.

• 5 years’ experience in a similar position for one family
• Fluent French

• CRB certificate (less than 3 months)

Responsibilities

• Responsibility for the whole household and domestic staff (house manager)
• Managing the staff
• Reporting to the family office
• Serving at receptions
• Supervising the work of contractors
• Managing the budget of the household
• Handyman duties (light home repairs, managing stocks, maintenance of alarms)
• Formal and informal table service
• Managing emergencies
• Managing the collection of arts and silvers
• Preparing breakfast in case of absence of the chef
• Assisting staff in their daily duties
• Managing schedules for the staff
• Personnel management (communication, training, supervision)
• Taking special training on restoration works
• Reporting to the family office regarding household budget, working hours, staff, house renovations
• Weekly reporting about the work of the staff
• Security and safety of the property

Schedule
5 days/week (working weekends if necessary). High availability when the principals are present
From 9 am to 5 pm when principals absent
