Job description
Our repeat client is seeking a temporary U.S.-based Sous Chef to join the family from December 20, 2023, until the end of March 2024. This will be a traveling position, with the client spending Christmas in Maryland, followed by a couple of weeks in Los Angeles, and the remaining time in Aspen, Colorado.
The client has two permanent chefs working in rotation, with 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off. An additional pair of hands is needed to assist during busy periods and cover days off for the permanent chefs.
Responsibilities
Manage food purchasing and storage.
Prepare meal ingredients.
Cook and creatively present food under the direction of the permanent chef/head chef.
Prepare supplements for the client.
Work within specified budgets.
Assist in developing new recipes and menus.
Manage the kitchen in the absence of the head chef.
Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen.
Requirements
U.S.-based candidate eligible to work in the U.S.
Experience working for HNW and UHNW clients.
Experience in fast-paced environments.
Quick and forward-thinking individual.
Very reactive and able to read the room.
Able to quickly memorize preferences.
Capable of starting work without additional training and easily adapting to changing situations.
Available to work and travel with the client from December 20 to March 31.
Work conditions
5 days per week, from late morning until evening (exact hours to be discussed).
Salary
Negotiable, depending on the profile.
