Job description
Our client, whose second residence is located in Eastern France, is looking for a caretaker couple responsible for maintaining the general upkeep of the late 19th-century property, the outdoor spaces, and site surveillance. The property is occupied every weekend by the owner, their family, and sometimes guests.
The caretaker couple, committed to a long-term engagement, will be in charge of managing the house and outdoor areas.
There are 2 dogs on-site to take care of. The position includes accommodation and is based in the Doubs department (25), between Besançon and Mulhouse.
It is a permanent position available in October 2023.
Responsibilities
Ensure the proper functioning and general maintenance of the 3-level property.
Complete maintenance and tidying of the residence.
Maintain the outdoor areas and the 3-hectare land (park, lawn, hedges, garden, vegetable patch, terraces).
Thoroughly care for household linen and the family.
Prepare the residence before the owner's arrival.
Prepare meals (simple and balanced family cooking).
Handle grocery shopping or supplementary shopping.
Be available to drive the owner upon request.
Monitor and guard the property.
Manage incoming mail and packages.
Undertake occasional DIY and repairs.
Supervise and manage service providers and artisans.
Provide regular reports to the employer.
Requirements
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position.
Friendly and pleasant couple seeking long-term employment.
Completely trustworthy individuals with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.
Dynamic and versatile couple.
Capable of autonomy and organization.
Able to perform minor DIY or occasional repairs.
Good communication skills and presentation.
Driver's license required for at least one person.
French speaking is required.

Accommodation : A freshly renovated and independent house on the property with 3 bedrooms, 2 floors, for candidates without pets.
