Job description
We are currently looking for a Gardener for our client, whose property is located near Poitiers (Vienne). The role involves taking responsibility for the security of the property and maintaining the outdoor spaces, including a medieval garden (recognized as a remarkable garden), an orchard, and a vineyard.
Position available as soon as possible.
Permanent contract with provided accommodation.
Responsibilities
Garden maintenance (mowing, topiary, pruning, cutting, weeding, hoeing, raking, etc.).
Orchard, vineyard, and vegetable garden maintenance.
Meadow maintenance (mowing, clearing, wood cutting, collecting and storing).
Management of plantings and replanting following the seasonal cycle.
Winterizing plants (protection, mulching, greenhouse placement, etc.).
Irrigation management.
Ensuring the proper functioning of equipment and performing maintenance tasks.
Tool maintenance.
Carpentry and minor repairs.
Daily site surveillance.
Operating machinery (mini tractors with dump beds, ride-on mowers, etc.).
Liaising with external service providers.
Collaboration with the gardening team responsible for major works.
Adhering to all site quality guidelines.
Ensuring the garden is perfectly maintained before public visits and conducting regular inspections between visits.
Reporting to the owner.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar professional setting.
Professional diploma required.
Good knowledge of medicinal and culinary plants.
Person with a strong sense of aesthetics.
Versatile, autonomous, and dynamic individual.
Appreciation for nature and wide-open spaces.
Good communication skills.
Proficient in operating machinery such as mini tractors and trailers.
Driver's license required.
Fluency in both French and English is a plus.
