Job description
Live-in Domestic Couple is required for a large property near London (Middlesex), UK. The estate has 35 acres of land and consists of the main residence, several outbuildings (including a gatekeepers’ house for the domestic couple), gardens and a forest.
This is a second home to a family of 5 who stay in the residence 5-6 times per year (mainly on holidays throughout the year and during part of the summer). On a daily basis, the household is informal and familiar but the principals may have important guests and host formal events so the domestic couple must feel comfortable in a formal setting as well.
This opportunity will be suitable for active, flexible and service-minded people who are looking for a long-term commitment.
Start: As soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Household maintenance
- General housekeeping (cleaning, dusting, laundry, ironing, etc)
- Caring for delicate materials and sophisticated objects
- Menu planning + shopping for groceries and stocks
- Cooking for the family and guests when they are in residence (family style nutritious meals)
- Ensuring there is sufficient security and protection on the Estate at all times day and night
- Assisting with events hosted at the Estate from time to time and providing assistance to the Estate guests
- Maintaining accurate records of suppliers, expenses, visitors etc
- Liaising with the office and contractors
- General management of the Estate and staff, including day-to-day oversight
- Butlering, table setup and service
- Maintenance of grounds, garden, lawns, borders, hedges, woodlands, lakes (assisting the gardeners)
- Maintenance of vehicles
- Chauffeuring
Requirements
- Experience in a similar position (ideally 10+ years as a domestic couple)
- Ability to provide a very high standard service
- Excellent checkable references
- Full and clean UK driving license (preferably for both)
- Detail oriented and very precise people
- Very flexible attitude
- Independent workers able to work without much supervision
- Computer skills (able to scan documents and use the computer, Microsoft Office 365 and email messaging knowledge)
- Fluent English
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Vaccinated
Work conditions
When the owners and guests are not in residence:
- Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm;
- Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm (availability required to enable other staff entering and exiting the property, and on the occasion there may be a work commitment at the property).
- When the owners and guests are in residence: Flexibility is required.
- Accommodation : A spacious 2-floor house near the property gate with a private garden
Salary
£70000-80000 gross per year per couple
