Full Time Private Chef Cook Job Offer and Vacancy in Florence, Italy
Lovely American family is looking for an experienced, highly skilled and creative live-out Private Head-Chef to work in their Palazzo in Florence, Italy.
The perfect candidate is a native or fluent English speaking person with ideally some knowledge of Italian.
The Head-Chef will mainly cook for the Principals with extended family members and a lot of guests joining, especially during the summer months.
The right person will be highly discreet and private, present but yet invisible. He/she will be able to provide a fine dining experience to the Principals and their guests. The Head-Chef will be assisted by fellow staff members and needs to be a team player. His/her goal should always be to provide the highest quality level of service to his employers and their guests.
The candidate will start as soon as possible in Florence, Italy. This is a live-out position but the family office might assist with housing solutions for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner of finest quality with healthy, fresh, mostly vegan and organic ingredients
Managing the chef’s assistant
Weekly grocery shopping at local vendors and online
Checking quality and freshness of deliveries
High quality informal table service for up to four guests alone or with the chef’s assistant. Extra staff will help with table service when 6 guests or more
Preparing snacks
Cooking for the staff
Keep the refrigerator / pantry / kitchen area well stocked, clean and tidy at all times
Keep the kitchen cooking area pristine and always store utensils and cooking equipment in an organised manner.
Excellent presentation at all times
Requirements
M/F
At least 5 years experience in a similar role in a private household
Previous experience in gastronomic restaurants
English native speaker. Italian is a plus.
Food Safety and Hygiene training or certification
Discretion, loyalty to the employer and strong work ethics
Sense of service and of duty
Capacité to improvise and adapt to last minute changes
Knowledge of a variety of culinary lifestyles with emphasis on healthy, vegan, vegetarian high quality cuisine.
Knowledge of casher cooking is a plus but not mandatory
High flexibility and organisation skills
Humble and private personality
Teamplayer
Valid driving licence
Meticulous person with a keen eye for detail
Work conditions
Position: Private Head Chef
Working hours: 40 hours/week with high flexibility required especially during the summer months.
Workplace: Florence, Italy
No Housing provided: Local candidates preferred. Assistance with housing solutions might be provided for the candidate who ticks all the boxes.
Employment contract: 3-months-temporary contract starting in July and permanent contract starting in October for the right candidate.
