Job description
Our client is looking for an amazing dog-loving Domestic Couple to take care of her household in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, UK, and help her look after 15 resque dogs (the client runs a sanctuary for rescue dogs as part of the charity she runs).
The couple will be responsible for maintaining a 5-bedroom house, all cleaning and laundry, some cooking (1 meal a day, family style), light gardening & pool maintenance, driving the client's teenage daughter to/from school and looking after the dogs (currently there's a dog walker), especially when the client is not at home.
The client works late in London three days a week and travels roughly twice a quarter for work, that's when the dogs will require care the most.
This is a permanent full-time position, start in July 2022.
Responsibilities
Cleaning the house to a high standard with attention to detail
• Laundry and ironing, wardrobe management
• Cooking simple dinner for 2-3 people
• Light gardening (mowing the lawn, etc), helping the existing gardener
• Pool maintenance if possible
• Some driving
• House maintenance and light repairs (changing light bulbs, etc)
• Keeping an eye on the children (15 and 17 y.o.)
• Feeding and brushing the dogs
• Dog walking
• Keeping the dogs company when the client is not at home (so they don't get lonely)
Requirements
Experience with dogs
• Compassionate and dog loving people
• Dog training experience will be an asset
• High standard cleaning skills
• Tidy and detail oriented
• Driving licence
• Fluent English
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Flexible an available
• Excellent references from former employers
Work conditions
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8am to 6pm, unless the client in London or travelling (in such case flexibility is required to keep company to the dogs).
• Accommodation: A separate 2-bedroom cottage will be provided, suitable for couples with pets. If needed, a car can be provided for work purposes.
Salary
Between £70000-80000 gross per year (joint), to be discussed
