Job description
A high profile Family with a residence in Phoenix, AZ, USA would like to consider candidates as a live-in or live out Domestic Couple/Private Chef & Housekeeping Manager to take care of their property, pets, surroundings and furnishings together with all menu planning, seasonal cuisine preparation and overall catering priorities.
Responsibilities
- Updating household manuals
- Overseeing all maintenance and upkeep on the interior and exterior
- Reactive and proactive maintenance of the property on a regular basis
- Ensuring the safety and security of the household at all times
- Regularly interacting with the household manager in relation to property maintenance
- Follow up on contracts for the entire household in collaboration with the Household Manager Supervising the maintenance of the garden in collaboration with our trusted suppliers Daily cleaning in accordance to presence or absence of the owners
- Overseeing the general cleaning of the property on a bi-monthly basis
- Purchase of cleaning and home supplies
- Looking after the management of the laundry: washing and ironing of the clothes, including delicates
- Shoe polishing
- Window cleaning
- Maintenance of the gym area
- Looking after the cleaning and tidying of both household cars
- MOTs and servicing: booking, management and report of faults to the household manager
- Rick-ups/drop offs of the family
- Children’s logistics (children attend 4 different boarding schools) in collaboration with the Household Manager
- Food shopping and running errands when necessary
- Assist with the packing when/if necessary
- Assist with the preparation of the school uniforms on a bi-annual basis (winter/spring)
- Menu Planning
- Grocery Shopping
- All cooking and catering requirements
- Bar attendance
- Managing third party caterers for functions
- Travel when required
- Catering for private in-flight dining
- Catering for private yacht dining
Requirements
- Hospitality background or previous Domestic Couple background and employment
- Fluent English, and Italian or Spanish will be a plus
- Experience in a similar position
- Experience of formal service of fine wine and food
- Able to cook
- Valeting skills
- Experience in caring for fine arts, antiques, silver, china and cars
- Ability to anticipate others’ wishes and adapt accordingly
- Experience in delivery of a discreet, confidential unobtrusive service
- Experience with having children around and responding to their needs
- Good knowledge of London (knows where “the best of” can be found – at the best price)
- Thrifty and able to keep a budget for the household
- Familiar but not friendly to the owners, warm but professional in their approach
- Happy to work around children
- Enjoy looking after the family’s pets
- Flexible and happy to work on weekends when/if necessary
- Polite, charming, well-spoken
- Natural multitaskers
- Independent but know equally the importance of working together to achieve the best results
- Etiquette experts and will use this knowledge at the right time
- Great presentation skills and ability to represent the household when necessary
Work conditions
Schedule: Flexibility is required when the clients are in London (including working at weekends); able to manage their own time when the clients are away.
