Job description

An executive client with a property in Philadelphia, USA requires the appointment of a long-term Senior Housekeeper who can constantly ensure that their upmarket property is spotless and ultra-clean.

Previous experience in private residences is of high importance and calibre. The role demands a candidate who can work alone, independently and unsupervised.

​As the sole employee on the property, the housekeeping role includes hands on cleaning, laundry and room preparation. A senior role is envisaged where the housekeeper is also experienced and qualified to manage third party accounts, duties and responsibilities when required.

Suppliers who manage the garden, pool and other facilities have to managed by the housekeeper in a more senior role.
The client requires full attention to detail and most importantly an aptitude for luxury environments and their requirements.

Duties of the Head Housekeeper will include the management all soft services to the highest standards from Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm daily.

​The Head Housekeeper will be expected to be completely hands on and able to not only work independently but also take full direction from a management team who will guide the expected levels of service and preparation.

Responsibilities


  • ​​​A check list and record to be had, as to maintain same.
  • Hands on Laundry with washing & ironing a very high level of cleanliness
  • The cleaning routine to be followed meticulously and a weekly reports to be submitted to management,
  • Basic errands that need to be done when required
  • Management of the household inventory and inventory list
  • The maintenance and upkeep of all cleaning equipment regularly
  • Detailed cleaning including carpets and windows, surfaces & antiques
  • The rooms are to be kept as per specified standards and to match specifications given
  • All delicate items including Laundry and ironing including linen, table cloths and napkins
  • All hand-washing, delicate and special care taken of fine linens
  • High end-end household appliances and delicate services need special care together with furnishings
  • The expectation of assistance in the preparation for functions/receptions and special occasions
  • Team work is of great importance as management and third party suppliers have hands on roles and are in place
  • Head housekeeper will be expected to report to the Principal’s chosen representative and management team
  • Knowledge and previous experience with home automation and high end finishes
  • Ability to work within a team including the Nanny, Chef, Chauffeur, Valet etc.

Requirements


  • Work needs to be carried out according to schedule and organized
  • Must have a pro-active mindset and be absolutely Honest and Trustworthy
  • English written and verbal command communication must be fluent
  • A need for previous experience in private residences, luxury boutique environments and establishments
  • Ability to work unsupervised for long periods of time
  • Schedule that if flexible and can include public holidays and weekends throughout the year to accommodate the Principle a/o guests – not frequently
  • Contactable references in writing confirming abilities in similar roles
  • Candidate should be eager to be employed on a long-term basis and be committed to the appointment.

Work conditions

Housekeeping experience of 5 years or more in a similar environment
  • Housekeeping qualifications are recommended
  • English to be fluent _ written and verbal
  • Significant experience
  • Discretion is a requirement, with a friendly yet professional kind and honest person, with good values

Extra information
  • Experience and qualifications will determine the salary of a successful candidate
  • Residential needs will determine the flexibility of the schedule
  • This is a LIVE-OUT position and as such MIAMI based candidates will enjoy priority.
  • Placement will be full time with a three-month trial period.​
  • Commencement Anticipated for 1 September 2020
