Job description
HNW Family is looking for a live-in Domestic Couple/Housekeeping Managers to take care of their property in Kensington, London, UK. The start will be in mid June 2020.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the general upkeep of the property
- Liaising and meeting vendors and suppliers
- Updating household manuals
- Reactive and proactive maintenance of the property on a regular basis
- Ensuring the safety and security of the household at all times
- Regularly interacting with the household manager in relation to property maintenance
- Follow up on contracts for the entire household in collaboration with the Household Manager
- Supervising the maintenance of the garden in collaboration with our trusted suppliers
- Daily cleaning in accordance to presence or absence of the owners
- Overseeing the general cleaning of the property on a bi-monthly basis
- Purchase of cleaning and home supplies
- Looking after the management of the laundry: washing and ironing of the clothes, including delicates
- Shoe polishing
- Window cleaning
- Maintenance of the gym area
- Looking after the cleaning and tidying of both household cars
- MOTs and servicing: booking, management and report of faults to the household manager
- Rick-ups/drop offs of the family
- Children’s logistics (children attend 4 different boarding schools) in collaboration with the Household Manager
- Food shopping and running errands when necessary
- Assist with the packing when/if necessary
- Assist with the preparation of the school uniforms on a bi-annual basis (winter/spring)
Requirements
- Hospitality background preferred
- Fluent English, French or Spanish will be a plus
- Experience in a similar position
- Experience of formal service of fine wine and food
- Able to cook
- Valeting skills
- Experience in caring for fine arts, antiques, silver, china and cars
- Ability to anticipate others’ wishes and adapt accordingly
- Experience in delivery of a discreet, confidential unobtrusive service
- Experience with having children around and responding to their needs
- Good knowledge of London (knows where “the best of” can be found – at the best price)
- Thrifty and able to keep a budget for the household
- Familiar but not friendly to the owners, warm but professional in their approach
- Happy to work around children
- Enjoy looking after the family’s pets
- Flexible and happy to work on weekends when/if necessary
- Polite, charming, well-spoken
- Natural multitaskers
- Independent but know equally the importance of working together to achieve the best results
- Etiquette experts and will use this knowledge at the right time
- Great presentation skills and ability to represent the household when necessary
Work conditions
Schedule: Flexibility is required when the clients are in London (including working at weekends); able to manage their own time when the clients are away.
