Guardian Couple Job
An experienced domestic couple are required for house near Tetbury, Glocestershire, United Kingdom. The family consists of 2 Principals and they have adult children who visit. There is a resident Chef. Formalities regarding dress and communication with the Principals in this role must be upkept.
The working week is Thursday – Monday. The Principals, when using the house, are there from Friday – Sunday. Days off are Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
There is some entertaining, estimated at approximately once a month.
Butler/handyman/houseman/Security
Tasks will include:
- Heavy housekeeping such as changing light bulbs and cleaning chandeliers
- Household maintenance
- Serving formal dinners on occasion
- Greeting formal guests
- Driving the Principals when required
- Butler duties i.e. looking after the male principle and taking care of his clothes/shoes
Housekeeper/Cook
Tasks will include:
- Laundry, ironing, cleaning
- Care of fine furnishings
- Wardrobe management, sewing
- Other ad hoc duties, occasional light cooking but not essential
The successful couple need to be experienced in private households, be accustomed to living in the countryside and who can work effectively together as a team, getting on with the job in hand. They will need to use their initiative and experience to trouble shoot any issues.
At least one candidate must have a driving licence and be comfortable driving.
Accommodation
A 2 bedroom cottage close to the main house, but not attached to it. The cottage has a garden.
Salary
£ 800-850 net/week for the couple, may be negotiable
