Butler Job and Vacancy


​A professional butler is needed for a semi-formal 7-bedroom house in the centre of Cape Town. The perfect candidate should have formal butler training and experience in a similar position.  

Duties and responsibilities
  • Table settings 
  • Serving of all meals for formal and informal occasions
  • Serving drinks 
  • Organising events and receptions 
  • Opening the doors
  • Greeting guests 
  • Taking care of guests’ needs 
  • Maintaining the silverware, polishing and buffing the floors
  • Flower arrangements for entire property
  • Managing and supervising the housekeeping staff
  • Managing of the housekeeping budget
  • Maintaining the principal’s wardrobe 
  • Managing travel arrangements for the family 
  • Reporting to the principals 

Requirements
  • 3 years’ experience (private family) 
  • Perfect command of English
  • Formal training (butler school) 
  • Experience in formal service
  • Good knowledge of wines and spirits  
  • Ability to provide formal service
  • Flexible

Schedule
6 days/week (Monday - Saturday)
8am – 8pm (flexible hours)  

Start – early June

Live-out position. Uniform provided.
Trial period: 4 weeks
High salary for the right candidate
