A full-time live in position to provide care and personal concierge support to a friendly, welcoming South African gentleman in his mid 80’s.
The principle is of very good health, a keen traveller and an active golfer. He enjoys a comfortable multi-national lifestyle and has several overseas residences. This position requires extensive travel with the principle providing support and care in line with the general schedule listed below;
The principle is of very good health, a keen traveller and an active golfer. He enjoys a comfortable multi-national lifestyle and has several overseas residences. This position requires extensive travel with the principle providing support and care in line with the general schedule listed below;
- Jersey, Channel Islands 30 days
- London, UK 90 days
- Plettenburg Bay/Johannesburg, South Africa 180 days
- General Travel EU/US 60 days
Vacancy duties and responsibilities
- Basic healthcare, blood pressure temperature checks etc
- Monitoring medication
- Arranging and attending general and specific medical appointments
- Liaison with medical professionals
- Managing laundry, dry cleaning, and wardrobe
- Packing and unpacking for travel
- Preparing and cooking meals (basic)
- Light domestic duties where necessary (housekeepers are employed in each residence)
- Companionship and to accompany the principle on outings and events as required
- Diary management
- Restaurant and travel bookings as required
- Shopping
- Assistance with electronic equipment charging and updates etc
- Liaise with maintenance teams for property related issues
- Liaise with office staff and family
Profile requirement
- Full clean driving license
- South Africa or UK passport
- Previous experience as a carer/companion with some medical knowledge
- A kind, caring and patient person with a happy and friendly disposition
- Eager and willing to undertake both care and companionship duties
- Must be flexible as this is predominately a support position and needs may change as time goes on
- Must be willing to engage, befriend and take the time to get to know the principle.
Conditions
Schedule: Flexible, to be agreed
Accommodation: A separate bedroom in each property; the full cost of living and travel expenses will be covered.
