Hotel Accountant Job
A hotel group is looking a hotel accounting manager for their resort located on an island in the Indian Ocean (Mia, Seychelles).
The candidate will be responsible for the entire accounting team, billing, purchasing and third party accounts for the resort (luxury lodges).
As the owner of the hotel has also designed the venue to moor his two luxury superyachts, and those of guests from time to time, the accounts manager will be required to manage accounts of refuelling, mooring and stays.
Tasks and duties
- Maintain customer order book and orders on hand (daily)
- Creditors department supervisor, Assist with creditors account processing
- Bank signatory
- Maintain sales register
- Authorise supplier vendor applications, Authorise and check rate of exchange claims made by suppliers
- Develop and monitor adherence to internal and statutory controls and regulations
- Developing advanced software solutions that compliment and improve the use of the ERP system
- General assistance as required by the Financial Manager on a daily basis
- Weekly Payroll audits, Authorisations
- Assist debtors department with technical and operational issues
- Monitor contract costing and project profitability
- Monthly Municipal charge out calculations to other divisions
- Various Reports
- Detailed income statements per department and for each branch with supplementary analytical information
- Export report by country
- Income tax calculations, Maintain electronic age analysis for creditors and debtors
- Create creditors reconciliation excel template
- Various month end journals for management accounts
- Foreign debtors close rate revaluation, Stock revaluation
- Detailed costing of all sales transactions
- Authorise 400+ creditors reconciliations for payment
- Assist with fixed asset register maintenance
- Standard cost price updates
- Assist with preparation of annual tax pack
- Costing of imported stock
- Assist contract engineers with managing projects
- Ad hoc investigations into problem areas identified by management
- Assist with preparation of management accounts
- Income tax forecasts, Income tax calculation for budget, Assist with the preparation of the budget, Completing annual insurance declaration, Providing significant assistance to auditors in the understanding of the business and interpretation of the financial records
